With a female candidate and an African-American fighting for the Democratic nomination, this year's presidential election has already made history.
But there may be another "first" come November - a record turnout by young and first-time voters.
Results for the 2008 primaries show young voters coming out in two to three times the numbers they did for the 2000 primaries.
To explore this potentially historic turnout by people age 18 to 24, we have prepared a special multimedia report in which we hear young people's concerns in their own words...

The vast majority of the American public is very progressive, even more so then Europe. Just travel a little if you doubt this! Right-wingers only make up about 20% of the population, the problem is that almost 100% of them vote and are very politically active. Just compare how conservative Christians push their agenda to the rest of America. A point missed in the media is that there is a whole industry dedicated to misleading the American public that the entire population is made up of pickup driving Christian Coalition neo-con rednecks. Right-Wing political action committees have people on payrolls in boiler rooms like telemarketers (NEWSMAX) whose sole purpose is to call in to radio talk shows, write letters to newspapers and, post right wing messages on internet bulletin boards while posing as the general public in order to give an effective illusion of a very conservative general public. This deception needs to be exposed!
